Art in the Park

I’m happy to share that four of my pieces have been juried into Mission Trails Regional Park  ~ Art in the Park! More details may be found here – MTRPF Art in the Park The pieces are all from my Fiber and Photograph series and one of them has not been exhibited before. The photograph for this piece was taken at Mission Trails by my son, Cameron B. Scott. The piece background fabric is pole wrapped (Shibori) with painted silk pieces and fun free motion quilting. The main event will be October 5th (Cameron and I will be there) but all of the art will be on display from September 22 – October 18, 2013 in the beautiful Visitor Center.

I started sewing and designing using fabric, thread, and paper when I was a child. I taught myself to make quilts, at first not following the "rules," then watched some experts, learned the rules, and made many hand quilted and appliqued quilts. I spent years focusing on miniature landscape quilts. Now I am a fiber and mixed media artist and that encompasses everything I have a passion for. I have taught, lectured, and my work have show nationally and internationally, some pieces have been published.
