Red Rock Roadrunner is art quilt with a twist. This original, one-of-a-kind art quilt is sure to be a conversation piece where ever it is displayed.

The twist is that this art quilt is framed with a hand sculpted faux red rock border instead of a fabric binding.

The background is hand painted fabric; the roadrunner is quilted and has a little painted detail near the eye. The painted fabric was layered with cotton batting, and backing fabric, then the roadrunner was free motion quilted. I hand cut pieces of art board to create a frame. I built up texture paste, while carving and hand sculpting. Once the pieces were dry, the frame was assembled and painted to resemble real red rock. The backboard has felt covered wooden slats that will rest softly against the wall. The slats are wired for easy hanging, and the front of the piece will set about 1 inch away from the wall. Red Rock Roadrunner measures approximately 29" x 13" and it has a signed label on the back.

I recommend the piece be displayed away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.
