This is an instructional video on how to make a small art quilt using a Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate, a homemade stencil, a Chinese paint brush, and acrylic paint. It was really fun to make!

I started sewing and designing using fabric, thread, and paper when I was a child. I taught myself to make quilts, at first not following the "rules," then watched some experts, learned the rules, and made many hand quilted and appliqued quilts. I spent years focusing on miniature landscape quilts. Now I am a fiber and mixed media artist and that encompasses everything I have a passion for. I have taught, lectured, and my work have show nationally and internationally, some pieces have been published.
Whole cloths
I’m behind in blogging but I have been spending happy hours (days actually) in the studio. I remember earlier in the year when I fell into a bit of a slump but now I have more ideas than I could ever have time to create (must be a spring thing). I have enjoyed a few… Continue reading Whole cloths
A felting I will go…
I’m getting ready for a craft fair and decided to make some felted soap. These are just the first few (they look a bit like colored eggs). I’m thinking about doing some needle punching on others but that takes much more time, so we will see. But I’m sure glad I’m not allergic to wool… Continue reading A felting I will go…
Pressing station
Recently I needed to replace my ironing broad canvas so I decided to take a few photos to show my ironing board and area. This surface is used primarily for pressing pieces of fabric and other fiber art materials…No garment ironing goes on in this studio! The ironing board is 18” x 48” and is… Continue reading Pressing station
Spring

They are painted using acrylic and are on cotton.… Continue reading Spring

Thanks, ladies! You know who you are! Check out my YouTube channel to see how each piece was painted.… Continue reading New hand painted fabric
Fabric Hearts
Many years ago I made hand painted fabric pins. Seeing as it is February I thought I would share this batch of painted hearts. Some pictured are works in progress; the ones on the hoop are finished. Not a very clear photo… taken before digital!
That’s one way to document a quilt…
Some things happen in life (and in the lives of those we care about) that cause us to stop, step back and take a walk down memory lane. I found this photograph the other day. When I began quilting years ago my kids were toddlers. As you can see in the photograph they were very supportive… Continue reading That’s one way to document a quilt…
