I started sewing and designing using fabric, thread, and paper when I was a child. I taught myself to make quilts, at first not following the "rules," then watched some experts, learned the rules, and made many hand quilted and appliqued quilts. I spent years focusing on miniature landscape quilts. Now I am a fiber and mixed media artist and that encompasses everything I have a passion for. I have taught, lectured, and my work have show nationally and internationally, some pieces have been published.
Designing Fabric
Here is a sneak peek of a couple of our prototype fabrics. I will write more about who the “our” of this collaboration is in a future post. We have been working on many designs for a while now but this is the first time we have had them printed to fabric, it is very… Continue reading Designing Fabric
Still Here and Kicking!

Flowers and a New Video
The weather is warm here, some would say hot but as I have probably said before I’m cold if it gets much cooler than 75 degrees. The garden looks like spring with flowers, bees, birds, butterflies, and lizards! My first irises have come up. I didn’t plant these here, they were displaced when the back garden… Continue reading Flowers and a New Video

Stripping
I just figured out a new way to cut my quilling strips! In a few of my online lesson videos I have demonstrated how I cut strips using two rules and a rotary cutter. Yesterday, a couple days after my Mister said in passing “You need a paper cutter” (while acting out the motion of… Continue reading Stripping
Sideswiped…
Well, I was moving along great, eating better and exercising more, getting the blood pressure and weight back in check, when I got totally sideswiped by shingles. It smacked me in the right side of my head and the swelling in my lip was so bad my husband accused me of getting Botox-ed. This nasty… Continue reading Sideswiped…

Art Imitating Nature…
As I mentioned recently we have had windy, rainy weather and that means a lot of palm fronds have sailed to the ground all over town. This reminded me to share the little art quilt below. A while ago I was experimenting with a piece of my hand painted fabric that had been treated with… Continue reading Art Imitating Nature…
